Risk and decisions

Rate risks and record decisions in the model.

Keep a risk register on the project risk scale, plan mitigations and follow each risk down over time. Compare alternatives in weighted trade studies and record the decision with its rationale.

What you can do

Project risk scale

Edit the risk matrix: size, likelihood and consequence definitions, and the level of each cell. Presets: Default 5 × 5 and MIL-STD-882E.

Risk register

Every risk in one table with status, owner, handling, probability, consequence, level, residual level, need-by date, mitigations and trigger.

Burn-downs

Record snapshots of a risk’s rating and draw the planned step-down at each mitigation’s completion date.

Risk diagram

Risks placed on the matrix by probability and consequence. Click a cell to add a risk there.

Trade studies

Score alternatives against weighted criteria with direct, linear or threshold scoring. Pull values from the model where they exist.

Sensitivity and Pugh

Check the weight sweep, tornado and rank reversal points, and compare against a datum on a Pugh matrix.

How it works

  1. Set the scale. In Risk & Decisions → Risk Register, click Edit Risk Matrix and choose a preset or your own definitions.
  2. Record risks. Click + New Risk and set probability, consequence, owner, handling and trigger. AI can draft risks for a selected item.
  3. Plan mitigations. Link the actions that mitigate each risk, with start and duration, and set the residual rating.
  4. Compare alternatives. Create a trade study for a decision, add alternatives and weighted criteria, and enter the values.
  5. Record the decision. Click Record Decision. The decision gets its choice, justification, date, decider and status in one undo step.

Keep risks and decisions next to the design.
