Risk & Decisions
Trade Studies
Compares the alternatives of a Decision against weighted criteria, checks how sensitive the result is to the weights, and records the choice.
Where to find it
- In the navigation rail: Risk & Decisions → Trade Studies.
- A Decision's Open ▾ opens its study;
trade?decision=<id>starts a new study for that Decision.
Main actions
- List: every study with its decision, alternatives, criteria, leader and status; + New Trade Study in the top bar.
- Study top bar: All Studies, Export ▾ (Excel Workbook, Word Summary) and Record Decision…. ✦ AI ▾: Suggest Criteria from Requirements and MOEs… and Draft Decision Rationale….
- Decision Matrix: raw values with their 0–10 score, normalized weights and weighted scores. Scoring methods: Direct 1-10, Direct 1-5, Linear (between the Threshold and Objective values) and Thresholds (value:score pairs such as
100:2, 200:6, 300:10). Pull Values from Model reads same-named Characteristics of each alternative. - Pugh Matrix: a datum alternative and +, 0, − per criterion, with Σ+, Σ−, Σ0, net and weighted net.
- Sensitivity: Weight Sweep (where the leader changes), Tornado (the leader's margin when each weight moves ±10–100%) and Rank Reversal Points.
- Record Decision… sets the choice, Justification, Decision Date, Decided By and Status = Decided; Reopen clears it.
Tips
- A trade study is an Artifact labeled Trade Study that enables the Decision; criteria are Measures labeled Criteria; alternatives are the Decision's alternative relationships.
- Risk & Decisions → Decisions lists every Decision.
