Holarch

Features

One connected model, from needs to verified design.

Holarch is a model-based systems engineering (MBSE) workbench. It covers the systems engineering lifecycle in order, and every view reads from the same model.

The model

One LML model behind every view

Every requirement, function, component, interface, test, risk and decision is an entity in one Lifecycle Modeling Language model, linked by typed relationships. The pages below are views of it.

One Holarch model behind every viewLML classes in one model: a Requirement is traced from a Statement, verified by a Test Case and satisfied by an Action. The Action is performed by an Asset and generates Input/Output, which a Conduit connected to the Asset transfers. A Risk is mitigated by an Action and a Decision resolves the Risk. Documents, FFBDs and action diagrams, SysML BDD and IBD, N-squared and the interface register, the RVTM and matrices, the risk matrix, Gantt and Kanban, and DoDAF and UAF products all read from this model. 01

Needs and requirements

  • Write requirements in documents. Each requirement is also an item in the model.
  • Import requirements from Word, Excel, CSV or ReqIF.
  • Run quality checks and see a quality score for each requirement.
  • Trace requirements to sources, functions and tests. Links are marked suspect when a source changes.
  • Route approvals and take baselines.

02

Behavior

  • Decompose functions into a hierarchy.
  • Generate FFBDs from the decomposition.
  • Draw action diagrams, IDEF0 diagrams, and SysML activity, sequence and state machine diagrams.
  • Simulate action diagrams with discrete-event and Monte Carlo runs, and report duration and cost.
Learn more about behavior →

03

Architecture

  • Allocate functions to components.
  • Draw SysML block definition, internal block and parametric diagrams.
  • Use values with units in parametric diagrams.
  • Review allocations and traces in matrices.
Learn more about architecture →

04

Interfaces

  • Keep an interface register of the connections between components.
  • Generate interface control documents (ICDs) from the register.
  • Interfaces are model items, so diagrams and documents that use them stay current.
Learn more about interfaces →

05

Verification

  • Plan tests in the Test Center.
  • Link each test to the requirements it verifies.
  • The RVTM shows what is verified and what isn't.
Learn more about verification →

06

Risk and decisions

  • Keep a risk register with likelihood and consequence for each risk.
  • Show risks on a risk matrix.
  • Compare options in weighted trade studies.

07

Plan and deliver

  • Track work on Kanban boards.
  • Plan the schedule on Gantt charts.
  • Keep mass, power and cost budgets.
  • Track technical performance measures (TPMs) against their targets.

08

Frameworks

  • Produce DoDAF and UAF products from the same model.
  • Import an OV-1 graphic and use it in your products.
  • Products update when the model changes.
Learn more about frameworks →

Collaboration

Work together

  • Share a project and give each person a role: owner, editor or viewer.
  • Edit at the same time and see who is in the project.
  • Work offline. Changes merge when you reconnect.
  • Every project keeps earlier versions you can restore.
Learn more about collaboration →

Whiteboards

Whiteboards

  • Sketch concepts with more than 6,000 icons, military symbols and systems-thinking shapes.
  • Link sketches to model items.
Learn more about whiteboards →

AI assistance

AI that you control

  • Use your own key from Anthropic, OpenAI, Google Gemini or Azure OpenAI.
  • AI suggests. You review every change before it applies.
