Verification
Deviations & Waivers
Approved departures from requirements. A deviation is agreed before the product is built; a waiver accepts a product that already does not meet a requirement. Both are Decisions with a Kind, traced from the requirements they depart from. The page shows with the Formal program on (Project Preferences → Program features).
Where to find it
- In the navigation rail: Verification → Deviations & Waivers.
- Also at
waivers. A failed result's Disposition… (Test Center, RVTM) records a nonconformance and can submit a waiver in the same step.
Main actions
- Top bar: Export ▾ (Excel with a sheet for nonconformances, CSV) and + New ▾ (Deviation…, Waiver…): name, requirements, classification (Major, Minor), effectivity, expiration date and justification. Numbered DEV-1 and W-1.
- Filters: All, Deviations, Waivers, Submitted, Approved and Expired.
- Workflow: Draft → Submit → Approve or Reject; Withdraw a submitted or approved item. Approve records your name and the date. An approved item past its expiration date shows Expired and no longer covers its requirements.
- Nonconformances: the second table lists each nonconformance with its test case and requirements; set its disposition in place, and Request Waiver… for Use As Is or Repair.
- An approved, unexpired deviation or waiver lets the requirement be signed off in the RVTM.
