SysML v2 Text Editor
The Editor edits the model as SysML v2 text. Each top-level package is one document; the list on the left switches between them.
- Type as in any editor. Text that parses is applied to the model when you pause, leave the editor or press ⌘S / Ctrl+S, as one undo step.
- Errors are marked in the gutter and underlined; point at a mark to read the message. Text that does not parse stays a draft in this browser until it parses, and the model keeps its last good state.
- Completion offers names and keywords at the cursor. ⌘ / Ctrl-click a name to go to its declaration. Rename a declared name to update every reference.
- Insert ▾ (top bar, or ⌃⇧Space / Ctrl+Shift+Space in the text) lists the constructs that fit at the cursor, in four groups: Structure, Behavior, Requirements and Other. At package level it offers packages, definitions and imports; inside a part definition, parts, attributes, ports, connections and the like. Type to filter; the preview shows the text and what it means. Enter inserts it on its own line.
- Inserted text has fields (name, type, multiplicity). Type over the selected field, then press Tab for the next one (⇧Tab / Shift+Tab goes back); type fields list the model’s definitions. Tab after the last field, or Esc, leaves the snippet and applies it to the model. Completion offers the same snippets: typing par offers the part keyword and the Part snippet.
- Find and replace with ⌘F / Ctrl+F.
- + New Package (top bar) adds a top-level package and opens its document.
- When the model changes elsewhere while you are typing, choose Keep Mine or Take Theirs.
Viewers see the text read-only.
