SysMLSystems Modeling Language A graphical modeling language for systems engineering, based on UML, with block, activity, state machine and parametric diagrams. v2 Projects
LML or SysML v2?
Holarch has two project types. You choose one when you create a project, and it stays fixed: a project changes type only through a converted copy.
| LML | SysML v2 | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is for | Modeling a system in the Lifecycle Modeling Language: requirements, functions, the physical architecture, interfaces, tests, risks and the schedule. Holarch checks your work at each step. | Building a model in the SysML v2 language, as text, with standard SysML v2 concepts (packages, definitions and usages, ports, connections, actions, states, requirements). |
| What you see | The lifecycle rail (Needs & Requirements, Behavior, Architecture, Interfaces, Verification, Risk, Plan), the Database, more than 30 diagram types, the simulator, model checks and the RVTM. | Home, Model (Text, Browser, Views), Needs & Requirements (Requirements, Quality, TBD/TBR, Suspect Links, Approvals), Behavior (Action Flows, State Machines, Sequences, Simulator), Architecture (Parts, General and Interconnection Views), Interfaces (Interface Register, ICDs, N² Diagrams, Items & I/O), Verification (RVTM, Verification Cases, Traceability Matrix, Model Checks), Risk & Decisions, Plan & Deliver, Frameworks (DoDAF, UAF) and Workspace (Documents, Whiteboards, Presentations). These pages work on the SysML v2 model. Pages not available for SysML v2 yet are not shown. |
| What you can exchange | Word, Excel, CSV, ReqIF and XMI imports; Word, Excel and diagram exports; project files. | SysML v2 text (.sysml files, or a .zip of them) and SysML v2 JSON, imported and exported on Model → Import and Export; Word, Excel and diagram exports; Holarch project files. |
If you are unsure, choose LMLLifecycle Modeling Language An open modeling language with a small set of classes and relationships that covers a system's whole lifecycle. Holarch models are LML models.. It has every Holarch page and diagram today and suits people who are new to MBSEModel-Based Systems Engineering Systems engineering that keeps requirements, behavior, structure and tests in one connected model instead of separate documents.. Choose SysML v2 if your team already models in SysML v2 or exchanges models with SysML v2 tools.
